We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sr Network Engineer to join our dynamic and fearless team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our projects.


  • Participate in estimating and proposal phase of major projects including research and analysis based on customer proposals, specifications, or other information to assist in pre-project planning.
  • Design network automation systems based on partner or customer provided control descriptions, joint-design sessions with partners or customers, analysis of existing operations or other means to develop functional design.
  • Develop well-documented network architecture drawings.
  • Work with other team members, partners or customers as needed to oversee or share design and development responsibilities to deliver successful projects, often working on multiple projects at one time.
  • Develop solutions to support testing and commissioning activities as required by customers and partners.
  • Provide on-site commissioning support and customer training as required, including the supervision of other team members and partners.
  • Provide technology consulting services as required by Gray Solutions for customers including but not limited to infrastructure and network design and setup.
  • Support customers regarding infrastructure and technology issues that may arise and provide other services as required.
  • Responsible for adhering to Gray’s safety standards on-site.


  • Candidates should have a degree and/or 10+ years of demonstrated professional work experience.
  • Must possess the appropriate training or experience in information technology and must be able to quickly understand complex technical solutions.
  • Advanced experience in Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS required.
  • Advanced experience configuring and deploying Cisco and other network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and WLAN controllers.
  • Data Center experience is recommended.
  • Experience configuring and deploying industrial switches (Stratix, Hirschman, Moxa, Cisco IE, etc.)
  • Experience in protocols to include but not limited to: OSPF, EIGRP, VTP, RSTP, SNMP.
  • Understanding of OT protocols to include but not limited to: Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, CIP, etc)
  • Understanding of OT ring technologies (REP, DLR, Turbo Ring, etc)
  • Experience in OT network architecture design and switch configuration design knowledge. 
  • Experience with Palo Alto (including HA clustering and failover) and vSphere 6.x/7.x required.
  • Certifications in Cisco, Palo Alto, and others are recommended.
  • Manufacturing network experience is required.
  • Understanding and familiarity of the following standards: Cisco CPwE, NIST 800-82, CMMC v2, ISA95/99, and IEC62443
  • Project management experience from an IT/OT networking perspective is recommended
  • Travel is a regular expectation of this role and depends upon the location of projects and customers, the stage of project execution, and your role in the project. Travel may also be required for annual company meetings and some training.
  • Project-based travel to customer sites and team check-ins can range 30-40% during installation and commissioning phases.
  • While the role requires travel, every effort is made to accommodate team members’ family and personal requirements.

The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; as well as other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000 to $152,000.
